Working the soil with the Löwenzahn prevents standing water in sugar beet cultivation on wet soils much better than other soil tillage machines I know of. I also use dandelions together with a sowing combination with a rotary harrow, which means I have fewer passes and also save fuel.

The Löwenzahn is impressive because it is easy to pull and my 110 HP tractor drives at a working depth of 20-25 cm and 6 km/h without any signs of fatigue. I also like the fact that I can use the device with a seed drill or other devices at the same time, which shortens my work. The yields with this method are on a par with those with ploughing.

I use heavy-duty processing machines on my loose soils and conventionally grow sugar beets with cover crops. With dandelion, I can simultaneously prepare the seedbed or sow, saving time and compressing the soil much less. The soil remains accessible until late in the year, allowing me to harvest later as well. In 2020, I had the best sugar beet yield so far.

For 2 years now, I've been using the Löwenzahn. What convinced me was the idea that it works rather narrowly but deeply (up to 24cm). The soil is loosened, but the layers remain intact with a crumb structure. Essentially, you're working intensively and extensively at the same time.
It takes some getting used to, but you achieve a better effect than with a normal cultivator. Due to the ratio of downward traction, you have very good adhesion. Despite being a front-mounted implement, there are no wheel tracks in the crop.
