Consequences of weather extremes
For farmers' associations, it's clear: Farmers are particularly affected by increasingly extreme weather events.
Agricultural damage statistics show: The highest yield losses are attributed to droughts. While these occur less frequently than other damage events, they have catastrophic effects.
The number of hot days with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees has significantly increased over the past 50 years. At the same time, days without precipitation have also significantly increased. However, flood damage can also cause significant crop losses in individual years.

Preventive
Measures
To mitigate risks, farmers have access to insurance. However, in Switzerland, only 14% of arable land is insured against drought, and in Germany, only 5%. Additionally, farmers do not receive any subsidies from the federal government for the expensive insurance premiums.
Through preventive soil cultivation using LÖWENZAHN® in combination with conventional soil cultivation machines, insurers and farmers can significantly reduce costs and risks and secure yields.
